13 Weeks Pregnant With A Bad Cough, On Strict Diet Due To Galactosemia. What To Do ?

I am 13 weeks pregnant with a bad cough and i cant keep anything down. I also can not take much because I am on a strict diet due to my husband having galactosemia, and my baby might also have that as well. I dont know if I should go to the hospital or just stick it out since the er might not know what to do in a case of galactosemia.

Hi thanks for your question.
The cough you are having most probably could be due to respiratory tract infection. There are very safe medicine which can be used in pregnancy.Interection between medicine and and galectemia is very less, as medicine usually don't contain galactose or lactulose.I would suggest you to consult your gynaecologist or safely visit hospital for prescription of medicine for your cough.
Hope this answers your question.
