Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
I understand your concern.
Do not panic.
It is difficult to differentiate between typhoid fever and viral fevers before 5 days clinically.
Viral fevers are usually associated with decreasing trend of fever commonly associated with malaise, body pain, cold and cough.
Fever in typhoid fever is incremental in a step ladder pattern, usually associated with coated tongue, abdominal pain and loose motion.
Your pediatrician will be a better judge when he sees the patient.
Hope this answers your query.
If you have any other queries kindly direct them to me.
Wishing a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
