Hi, my 13 year old daughter fell off the swing yesterday at 1pm during recess in school. she was swinging and her classmate tried to pull the swing to stop it and she flew backwards and landed on her stomach on her left ribs on a cement divider. we applied ice packs for 30 minutes and repeated it after an hour. her back is still sore as well as the lower left ribs. she feels fine yesterday but a little numb she says. what should we do?

Hello and thanks for query
In my opinion you must go for X-ray chest to rule out any fractured ribs. In addition to this if there is tenderness or sore in abdomen USG abdomen may be needed.
Meanwhile to get rid from pain apply local gels, do alternate hot and Ice fermentation. Take analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain.
If there is any sign of shortness of breath, fever or abdomen discomfort than please go to the ER for emergency treatment and needed investigations.
Hope this will help you.
Best Wishes
