13 Year Old, Diagnosed With Lichen Planus. Taking Medication, No Improvement. Suggestions?

My son (13) has been a diagnosed patient of lichen planus mainly affecting both legs below knees. It even now starts with a small itchy boil and end up with a brownish scarry legion on lower parts of foot.. cobetasol/halobetasol with salisylic acid combinations do not help generate new skin. oral steroids like methyl prednisolone/beclamethasones alongwith topical steroids have not resulted in good results.

please suggest if any thing is further advisable.
