14 Month Daughter, Swollen Gums, Bad Breath, Cutting Teeth. Any Ideas?
My 14 month daughter has been having a hard time cutting teeth. But lately her gums have been really swollen around her front teeth which have already came through. And she also has bad breath along with that. She doesn't hardly eat or drink anything either because her gums are so sore and she's very irratable. What could be causing this?
thank you for your question.now it is the time for new tooth to come gradually in mouth.so it may create pain called teething,it is the pain associated with tooth eruption.i would suggest you to give your child analgesic suspension to get relief of pain.and you should notice whether she/he is getting fever or not,if associated systemic symptoms appear then it may be viral infection.metrohex gel can be applied on gims and antibiotic suspension may be given to combat against bacterial infection.if not reduced then you should consult with dentist.wish your baby gets cured soon.
