16 Year Old Feeling Tired, Missing Periods. Reason?

My daughter got her period at the age of 11 yrs and was consistant up until about a year ago. Is it normal for her period to just stop. She is 16 yrs now and not active. Could she have an illness that I'm unaware of. She often feels tired. She just had a complete physical including a visit to the gyn doctor and they didn't find anything wrong with her health.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response

Hello,

In this age group, missing period occurs due to improper ovulation and may be associated with hormonal imbalance, emotional stress/ anxiety, weight gain/ loss, irregular diet habit, thyroid disturbance, ovarian cyst etc.

One pelvic ultrasound and hormonal assay are quite helpful to rule out underlying pathology if any.

She needs to improve lifestyle by taking healthy diet with more vegetables & iron supplements, avoid stress by yoga/ meditation, drink more water, maintain genital hygiene, do light exercise and take sound sleep.

Hope it helps for her. Be well.
