Thanks for contacting HCM. Your son's symptoms are of definite concern.
Eventhough
colonoscopy was negative , he still could have Crohn's.
If the endoscopist was really good in getting a good look at the last
portion of the small bowel called "Terminal Ileum" , then at least that
part is not affected. Your son should have a small bowel x-ray series
or a
Capsule Endoscopy if available near your area. You also mention
enlarged lymph nodes and that may be secondary to Crohn's or he may
have some other problem like
Lymphoma or Hodgekin's because of his
fever and
weight loss.
But according to your note, all the blood studies were nagative. I am not
sure if that included IBD-Panel (ANCA or ASCA) .
Hope you can discuss these with the GI specialist that he is going to see
next week.
