Hi thanks for your question.
Recurrent tonsillitis is common at this age in children .The treatment you gived to your child is right, but infection is still persistent and has spread to adjoining structures, may have caused pharyngitis (infection of throat) and gingivitis (infection of gums).Get him examined by an ENT surgeon who may suggest you to go for tonsiliectomy,as for recurrent tonsillitis , ultimate treatment is tonsillectomy .Addation to antibiotics and ibuprofen ,he also needs antihistaminic and decongestant.
Hope this answers your question

Pediatrician Dr. Synthyia Bhagat's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your child is having recurring tonsillitis so I suggest you to get him examined by a pediatrician or ENT specialist.
As you mentioned after antibiotic his fever has has returned so the infection is still persisting and he may require another course of antibiotic.
In the meantime give him plenty of fluids.so as to maintain hydration.
Give paracetamol for fever.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless..
