19 Month Baby, Diarrhea, Diaper Rash. Normal Blood And Stool Test. What Could Be This?
Hi. I have a 19 month old Lil boy in my care from the state when we got him 4 months ago he came with diarrhea and bad diaper rash.. it lasted 4 months took to the Dr they did blood and stool test and all normal.. I put him on gluten free diet goin on 4 weeks and he's now poopin rocks .. ?? Should I take him to a g.I dr?
Obviously the diarrhoea was due to gluten sensitivity
The diaper rash is due to stool irritating the skin...
Now the hard stool? It is most probably due to less fluid intake.
Increasing the amount of fluids will generally solve the problem (may need to chart it out for proper guidance)... Rarely stool softeners may be required...
Paediatric Gastro Enterologist (GI doctor) is the best option, if you could get one / but it is not an emergency...
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

19 Month Baby, Diarrhea, Diaper Rash. Normal Blood And Stool Test. What Could Be This?
Hi, Thank your query on Healthcare Magic. This child is having diarrhea most probably due to a virus. The mainstay of treatment in diarrhea is to maintain the hydration of the child. Give sips of oral rehydration solutions like Pedialyte, coconut water, and lemon water to maintain hydration. Monitor his hydration by urine output, activity, skin turgor, and moist tongue. Consult the Pediatrician for physical examination and for treatment. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
