19 Year Old Had Surgery For Ovarian Cyst Removal. Suffer From Acne. Irregular Periods. What To Do?
hi i am 19 and i had one of my ovaries removed 3 weeks ago due to a cyst, since then my acne has gotten very bad. i have been suffering with acne since i was 13 but it is very bad since the operation. i am supposed to start taking the pill (microlite) on my next period, but mine had always been irregular so that might not be for another month. what should i do?
Hi and thanks for the query, It might be very necessary to get a complete reevaluation form a gynecologist. Its important also to know whether you were prescribed any drugs after surgery or not. Some of these drugs are hormones and could interfere with normal body physiology to cause certain unwanted signs and symptoms as such. Acne especially of long duration might deserve to be evaluated by a dermatologist. Options like specific acids, Courses of low dose doxycycline or creams might be helpful . All these require specialist consultations for they might take time to produce required effects or might react differently in different clients. Thanks and hope this helps, Best regards, Luchuo, MD.
