2 Year Child, Pupils Dialated, Runny Nose Of Clear Liquid From Right Side. Got Hit, Had A Fall. Anything To Worry?
Hi my daughter is almost 2 and hit the back of her head yesterday when she fell it wasn't a bad fall but her pupils did dilate equally. She has acted normal but today has had a runny nose of clear liquid on the right side. Should I be concerned? She did go to a day care yesterday too where there was a kid with a runny nose prior to her fall. She has sneezed a few times today. Could it just be a cold or should I worry that it's only runny from one side
Watering from one nostril after head injury is a concerning symptom and sign.
It may be suggestive of CSF fluid leak from the roof of nose cavity.
I advise you to consult emergency as early as possible to examine the child and investigate with the analysis of nose discharge and imaging like CT Scan brain.
