In these days, asthma is being diagnosed as early as one year after birth in contrast to the earlier days when the diagnosis was made later in childhood; the changing life-styles and the climatic conditions are to blame and there is usually no family history attached unlike in the olden days. Thanks to inhalation medicines, we are able to take very small doses of medication with much better effect and lesser side effects. If you have to give the medication frequently to your child, please discuss with the pulmonologist as to the proper dosage schedule and the tapering doses; however, there is very little harm in taking the medication for prolonged period except for some studies suggesting lowered height in infants prescribed Budocort. To get to a conclusion regarding the diagnosis, your child may need to take certain tests and an evaluation by the pulmonologist. Hope this information is useful. Take care.

Bronchial asthma could be one of the causes of recurrent cough and cold.

Some times family history of bronchial asthma may not be present.
Asthalin helps in bronchodilatation in a acute episode of bronchial asthma.
Budecort is a preventor medicine. It helps to prevent further episodes of asthma. It is not useful in a acute episode as per guidelines.
