21, Previously On Depo Shot,severe Periods Irregularity Presently. Please Advice.

Hello, I am 21 years old and I have been off of the depo shot since june of this year. I have been on it since June 2012 and I stopped taking it around june this year. After that I started having spotting around October but it was off and on but my first real period started about 3 weeks ago. I started out spotting and then my regular cycle came in It started off semi light barely soaking one pad. but then as time went on it got heavier. Now I am on the end of week 2 and its still on. I am not sure if this is normal and I cant afford to go get checked out right now because i dont have the co pay amount. Can you help me I havent had any irregular symptoms. Just regular mentrual cramps and the usual. That is all.

I am so sorry to hear about this irregular period. Bleeding for 2weeks is clearly abnormal and warrants a consultation for evaluation and appropriate treatment. I understand the financial constraints but, believe me they are no where near the prime importance of good health. I will strongly suggest that you get consulted. Staying away can lead to excessive bleeding, anemia, possible death, etc. A gynecologist would be the best person to consult for this. Go and get treated, You shall be treated and you would be able to repay this with time. However, you cannot regain your heath if it gets messed up right now!
