22 Weeks Pregnant, Small Cyst Found In Amniotic Sac, Advised Repeat Ultrasound. Why Does It Happen ?
Good morning. Doc left a message saying that they found a small cyst in the amniotic sac and ask that I follow up with another ultrasound . They have not called me back but I m worried. I am almost 22 weeks pregnant. Why does this happen? What are the risk & how does it affect my baby? What could I have done to prevent this? What can I do to fix this doctor? tnk you for your time. Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
First of all, you can do nothing to "fix" this. While I think that leaving you a "message" is not appropriate care, it sounds like their level of concern is actually quite low. In terms of what this means, it actually is not a sign of anything bad, and if the baby's anatomy and growth are otherwise normal, then I would try not to worry too much. One thing that would help is calling your doctor back and asking for a person-to-person explanation stating that "your message completely freaked me out and I would appreciate an explanation of this finding!".
I hope that this helps and good luck! If you would like a more detailed or prompt answer, please consider the Premium Service.
