25 Year Old With Blood In Stool. Taking Lipotropic B12 Injections. Have Constipation. Hemorrhoids?
I am a 25 year old white female. I went to the bathroom and had diarrhea mixed in with some formed stool with a moderate amount of blood in the toilet and when I wiped the toilet paper was covered in blood. There was no more bleeding after I was done using the bathroom. This is the first time this has happened. I don't have any history of GI problems and have never had hemorrhoids before. I started taking lipotropic b12 injections and phentermine a month ago and have had some constipation but have never forced myself to have a bowel movement and haven't taken any kind of stool softner or laxative. I have been extremely exhausted over the last week. I have always had trouble feeling fatigued, but this it worse. I could possibly be pregnant, but it is too early to tell. So I was thinking maybe the fatigue could be related to that and took a pregnancy test even though I'm not due for my period until the June 7th, which came back negative. So I'm not sure what is causing the fatigue and the bloody diarrhea, but the only thing that comes to mind is hemorrhoids, but I have no discomfort of any sort. Please advise!
Hemorrhoids are the most common reason of blood in the stool. However such blood is never mixed with the stool. It appears on the surface of it. Diarrhea is also not characteristic symptom for hemorrhoids. Your symptoms can be caused by bacterial infection (which is now gone) or by inflammatory bowels disease (Crohns disease). Blood in stool, diarrhea, constipation and fatigue are characteristic for Crohns disease. Fatigue might be caused by decreased hemoglobin level due to bleeding. Pregnancy does not give blood in stool.
That is why I suggest you to visit your doctor, have blood work, abdominal ultrasound, stool tests and consider colonoscopy.
Hope this will help. Regards.
