26 Weeks Pregnant, Stomach Pain, Radiating From Centre, Cold, Cough, Dull Pain. Treatment?

Hi, I am 26 week pregnant and all day today my stomach has been extremely hard with constant pain. It is not a sharp pain but a constant dull pain. I am getting over a bad cold and am coughing alot. I do not feel that I can get a full lung full of air if that makes sense. But the problem is the dull constant ache in my stomach. Baby is moving as per normal. Any ideas as to how I can relieve this or what it is? The stomach pain feels like it is in the centre of my stomach and radiates out to the sides. Many thanks

Hi,

The pain you are feeling is due to tightening of uterine muscle.
As you are suffering from cold and cough associated with respiratory discomfort, you need to get treated with antibiotics for the condition. The respiratory problem can aggravate your uterine irritability and there is always a risk of premature labor. So, please see an obstetrician and also get medication for respiratory ailment. As the baby movements are good, timely intervention will remove the risk f premature labor.
Wish you the best!

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The mild constant ache in the abdomen during pregnancy could be due to many causes like acidity, indigestion, muscular spasm,. etc. Not able to breathe properly may be related to the decreased abdominal breathing during pregnancy. An ultrasound scan might help in detecting the cause.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Regards,
