Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My prescription for Zoloft (actually the generic Sertraline) at 200 milligrams daily expired and my doctor refused to refill it because I hadn't seen him in a year. My old doctor retired and I don't care for his replacement at the practice I go to. Nothing specific but I just don't trust him as a physician, I guess. So I'm going to go a new doctor (the same MD my father goes to) but I can't get in there until October and I've already been without Sertraline for about a week now.
What should I do? Can the CVS in store clinics give me a refill for my Sertraline prescription? Doctors on Demand or some other telemedicine service? I'd very much like to avoid seeing my present physician as I just don't like him but I also am starting to feel the effects of going off my antidepressant, whether it's SSRI withdrawal or recurrence of my preexisting general anxiety disorder, and I'd like to avoid an anxiety relapse!
Thanks!
