Hi,

Any rash which erupts suddenly is mostly an allergic rash.Chicken pox or any other viral rash is associated with symptoms like fever and cold.

If your sons have an itchy rash you could give them an antihistamine and calamine lotion for application on rash. For a final diagnosis i would suggest you get them examined by their doctor.

Regards.
