3 Year Old Having Rashes On The Hands. Rash Turning Black. Reason?

My 3year old son started off with a weird rash on the top of hands about 5 days ago looking like a wind burn type of rash and it feels rough! Over a period of two days I noticed it turned purplish like a bruise but its on top of both hands so knew it. Plus r be a bruise and now today it's a dark brown turning blackish ..no symptoms of sickness or fever or anything else and it's only on his hands!
