Hi Andy,

I would recommend you to consult a good ENT specialist, if there is no ear discharge then there is no question of taking ear swab. Please do continue cefprozil.

Hi Andy,

Ear infection is common in children, you need not worry about this. It cannot invade into the brain so easily. Ear infection can be secondary to eustachian tube (the tube connecting the nose and the ear) block. Adenoids or nasal allergy can be the main culprit. If the child is having any cold associated with this, please use saline nasal drops, give warm water for drinking. If there is any discharge from the ear avoid water into the ears. Any more doubts you are welcome.

Hi Andy,

If there is any discharge from the ear, you can definitely get an ear swab culture done. Can I know what antibiotics were prescribed for your child?
