3 Year Son, Loss Of Appetite, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Dark Circle Under Eyes. Family Had Same Symptoms Last Week, Now Better. Suggestions?
My son just turned three years of age in June and he is not eating as much and has been vomiting and has had diarrhea. The whole family had the same symptoms last week and we are better now except for my son Gavin he is still not eating well still has diarrhea but isn't still vomiting.. He also has dark circles under his eyes... I have been giving him his vitamins daily what else can I do?
Some times diarrhea in children may take a little longer.
Monitor for signs of dehydration. They include 1. Decreased skin turgor 2. Increasing thirst. 3. Sunken eyes. 4. Irritability. 5. Drowsiness. 6. Decreasing passage of urine. If there is blood or mucus in the stool antibiotics prescribed by your doctor may be required.
ORS or any other fluid containing salt and sugar prevents dehydration.
Vomiting should be controlled by antiemetic prescribed by your doctor. Probiotics and zinc will help.
Appetite in children decreases during illness and may take some time to recover.
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
