3.5 Weeks Pregnant. History Of Miscarriage. Will Taking Usg Detect Chance Of Sub Chorionic Bleed?
Hi I just found out I am pregnant and it's a very early pregnancy 3 1/2 weeks. I have had 3 miscarriages and 1 normal pregnancy so I am of corse stressing a little. The last 2 pregnancies I had sub chorionic bleeds and I just want to know if I got an ultra sound would it be too early to detect a sub chorionic bleed in this pregnancy?
Hi, An ultrasound at this stage cannot detect any gestation sac clearly and therefore, detection of subchorionic bleed is not possible so soon. In fact, as the membranes develop and the fetal pole is distinguished, you should be able to see any defects by the 6th week through a trans-vaginal sonogram. Please take absolute bed rest, avoid any stressful activity including intercourse, eat a healthy diet and take adequate liquids. It is not necessary that you should land up with similar situations in every pregnancy, so please remain positive. Anxiety is in itself harmful to a pregnancy. Hormonal supplementation in addition to folic acid may help. Hope your query is clarified. Take care.
