35 Weeks Pregnant, Baby Transverse. Sporadic Discomfort In Upper Right Side. Remedy?
Hi, I'm 35 weeks pregnant and baby is lying transverse. I have been having sporadic discomfort in my upper right side for several months that my doctor has just attributed to a kick from baby. I'm wondering if it could be broad ligament pain and if there is anything I can do about it. Should I press my doctor to take my concern more seriously as the discomfort is becoming more regular!
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
The reason that you are uncomfortable is because the baby is in an awkward position. It is likely not from round ligament pain. The only discussion with your doctor is when they are going to plan an external version to get the baby into a head down position (usually performed around 37 weeks). This is assuming you do not have a reason to NOT do a version, such as a prior Cesarean Section, for example.
I hope that this helps. If you have more questions, please click on "ASK ME A QUESTION" link above to directly ask me a question!
