36 Weeks Pregnant. Urine Test Showed Glucose In Urine. Cleared Gd Screening And Gtt. Suggested One More Test. Can This Wait?
Hi there. I am 36 weeks preg yesterday and my urine tests showed glucose in my urine the last 2 tests. I have already gone for the gd screening and the gtt (passed). Now my doc is sending me for another one and wants me to go tomorrow. I have a full day planned already and I'm wondering if this next test can wait till Tuesday after the holiday weekend?
Hi Dear, The appearence of glucose in urine even with normal blood sugar is known as renal glycosuria where the threshold of kidney to handle sugar decreases and sugar starts appearing in urine. This itself can lead you to preterm labour and delivery or cause urine infection with the same resultant effect. Getting the test is not an emergency, you can wait but you are already 36 weeks and moreover should get the test early if not a problem as it will help your doctor in deciding the course of your tretment All the best
