Dr. my son is 3.7 yesrs old and he has Cylindrical power of -2.5 right eye & -1.5 left eye, Axis is 180 right eye & 180 left eye.
do i need to go for glasses & is there any alternate solution?
if so How long should he wear glasses?
is it curable?
can we do a laser & avoid glasses as he is too young to wear glasses all time ?
Hello Dear, though I am not an ophthalmologist, i think its too early for laser. -1.5 for myopic isn't that bad. Try glasses for some years. If power increases to high extent, can get counselled for laser otherwise myopic eyes gets presbyopia corrections when older. My advice is try to be as natural as possible. There's not much to worry in your case. Best wishes.
Hello,' Your son is having myopic astigmatism in both the eyes. He needs to use glasses as of now. He can undergo laser correction surgery only after 18 years by when the progression of the refractive error halts. It is compulsory to use glasses now as if he wont use them now it may lead development of ambylopia.
Thank you
