Hi my grandad went for a check at his local hospital the other day they said his battery was low and had about 3 months left on it, It is his 2nd pacemaker what i was wondering was when he went to the appointment they said there was nothing more they could do, surely they cant just leave him with nothing and send him home, has anyone ever heard of this happening is there a limit on how many he can have he is 78 now any help and advice would be much appreciated thanks
The Dr interrogated his device, they will replace battery when it is time to. They are aware that the battery is low, they will schedule appointment to replace the battery in due time. I have a pacemaker/defibrillator with an audible alarm that times me the battery is low, and the device has about 1 month of battery life left. That's my signal to call the Dr. I'm 100% pace dependent. I'm on my fourth device but the skin in that area is thinning. Perhaps the Dr stated "there is nothing we can do at this time"????
