I am sorry to hear that your child was not well earlier this year. I am even sorrier to see that no one answered your question when you had posted it. I am sure the child must be all right now, and almost a year old. usually, winter diarrhoeas are due to rotavirus, or some other enteroviruses. That may sound a little foreign to you, but these are essentially viruses, and they cannot be treated with antibacterial agents. A viral diarrhoea lasts for about a week, after which it starts getting better on its own. You must remember this the next time, God forbid, he has diarrhoea again.
The first thing to do is to give the child oral rehydration salts or ORS water ... you can get readymade sachets of ORS from any pharmacy. Be sure to read what amount of water the sachet is to be diluted in, and then give the fluid as much as possible to your baby till your doctor is available, and even afterward, when the other treatment has been started.
