4 Year Old Child, Head Injury, Bleeding From Nose, No Nasal Injury. Treatment?

My 4 year old son fell off his 4 wheeler and hit the back of his head in the garage. His nose had some blood in it about 20 mins later. He did not hit his nose. There is no more blood now, it was a tiny bit. How should I handle this. We are continuing to watch him, he is very active and is playing like normal. Any advice?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,

The main symptoms of head injury are loss of consciousness, vomiting, headache, etc . Nose bleeds after
an injury to the head, could indicate skull fracture. I would suggest that you visit a physician and rule out this possibility.

It is a good sign that your son is active and playing normally. Most likely , he is ok. Still, It would be better if you visited the doc.

Hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

Regards,
Dr.Divya Kuttikrishnan
