4 Year Old With Vomiting. Blood And Urine Test Normal. No Fever. Worried
My son 4 years old has recently commenced vommiting of the evening this can sometimes be after food or not after food - this has been happening over a now 11 day period - day 1 three morning cases and then a large evening, nothing day 2 - day 3 - evening vomit, day 4 or 5 nothing - day 6 large evening vomit, we had blood and urine tested on day 7 which came back clear.....then on day 11 we had another large evening vomit........generally in some of the cases he is disinterested in eating as opposed to normally when he has a quite substancial appetite .....there is never a fever in all the cases that have occured
Hello: 11 days of off and on vomiting should be of some concern. Has anything changed in his diet, or in his life, like for example going to pre-k for the first time, a stressful situation at home, etc. We have to look at all the possible causes. He may have become lactose intolerant, or he might be dealing with some food allergy. There is also a possibility of chronic infection by H. pylori (a bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract) he may be having reflux. If the situation continues, it's better that he gets evaluated by a gastroenterologist, if he has already seen his pediatrician.
