43 Years. Delayed Periods, Pre-menstrual Symptoms With Regular Stress. No Other Health Issues. Concerning?
Dear Doctor,
I am 43 yrs old and having regular periods between 21 to 28 days. It was once delayed to 36 days. I am not married . This month my cycle has not come till now. today it is the 40th day. I have been having the pre-menstrual symptoms since more than a week but still it did not start. I am worried. I am a healthy person and do not have nay health / thyroid problems. Only regular office stress and stress at home which is there over the years.
Hi, As per your age, it is likely that you are in to the perimenopausal stage and such sort of disturbance is quite common in this phase of life. Any sort of stress can easily distort the menstrual cycles now. Weight disturbances, stress, infections and certain medications cause such a situation. You may see a gynecologist for a proper evaluation and management. If necessary, you may be advised hormones for withdrawal bleed as hormonal disturbance is most common at this stage. Wish you good health.
