5 Month Baby, Suffering From Cold And Cough. Prescribed Sinarest Af Drops. Will This Make Him Prone To Medication?
Sir, My baby boy is of 5 months and is having mild cold and cough. The doctor has recommended Wikoryl AF drops (6 drops twice a day). Previously he would be given Sinarest AF drops for the same reason. I would like to know the difference between the two.
My other concern is that he has been given medication for cough and cold right from the first month; would this make him prone to medication.
Hi Look mild cough and cold or common cold in any age is self limiting,, until and unless diagnosed some under laying cause and should be treated accordingly, any cough drops is not at all advisable to pediatric age group of patients, it is harmful to them particularly to their nerves system, you can try honey for common cold and cough just give 5ml honey once a day ( Bed time is more preferable) Take care of little one.
Hi Thanks for your query. Relax, your doctor is right .Wikoryl af has decongestant and sinarest af has decongestant and antihistamine which are given for symptomatic relief in cough and cold. They are safe and do not make child addictive. wishing your child good health. god bless...
Hello dear dad/mom, Well i can understand your concern here because now a days, almost every 2nd parent is going through the same set of questions. The best answer to all of these doubts is Homoeopathy!! There is no better system than Homoeopathy for kids, right from the time of birth. It is the safest mode of treatment available for children. Homoeopathic medicines help raise the immunity of the child & thus give them the necessary strength to fight against infections/ diseases. And there is no fear of dependency on medicines. For a proper homoeopathic consultation you must approach your nearest homoeopath who would take a detailed case history & thus prescribe the best suited medicine for your child.
