Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
6 and a half weeks back I came back from a family trip in another city and was getting severe head pain nausea and abdominal pain so I assumed I had caught a virus and waited for it to pass through. During the first five days I couldn't keep any food down but my stool was fine and I was just getting chills and feeling sick overall. Another week passed and I thought it was enough so I went to the doctor and they said that it was acid and gave me omeprozale. I started taking it and it made me even more sick to the point of not being able to get out of bed so I went to an a and e where they took blood tests and said I had viral gastroenteritis which made more sense and said it was taking a while to go. I'm on the 6th week now and although my stomach is gradually getting better I still have abdominal pain and really loose or floating stools that vary throughout the day. But my headache hasn't improved and I'm getting terrible eye strain and fatigue and sore throat. I feel Improvement but almost nonexistent due to how gradual it is, so could this all be a virus or is there cause for concern due to the length of the problem. I have no former health problems that I know of and i am generally fit and healthy. Thank you
