67 yer old female with autoimmune disease- cirrhosis of the liver- stable for 15+ years. Taking imuran 50 mg per day. Previous information that I have researched recommended against the shingles vaccine. Is this true for the new vaccine as well? According to article on WebMD it doesn't recommend the vaccine for patients with autoimmune disease. I did have chicken pox as a child.
