7 Month Baby Having Coughing, Sneezing, Blocked Nose, Phlegmatic Chest, Blue Tinge Under Lip. Is This A Cause For Concern?

Hello there my 7 week old baby has had a cold for almost 3 weeks. Coughing, sneezing, blocked nose and phlegmatic chest you can hear bubbling. My Gp this week said no sign of infection and that colds can last 4 weeks. She's feeding normally but there is a slight blue tinge under her bottom lip. Do you agree that 3 weeks with no improved breathing is normal and should I be worried about the blue tinge? Thanks...

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM.
You have not mentioned what is the respiratory rate.
If the respiratory rate is more than 50 per minute, then your history suggests Pneumonia as diagnosis.
Consult pediatrician immediately and rule out or confirm pneumonia.
It require immediate treatment hospitalisation if it is pneumonia.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose.
Please feel free to ask me any more queries, I shall be happy to answer.
Take care
Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam.
