7 Year Old With Persisting Fever. Has Intermittent Asthma. Is That The Reason?
My 7 year old son keeps getting a fever that doesn't last long. It goes up to 101 in the beginning of the day or when he wakes up in the morning then goes away after a few hours. this has been going on for a couple of days. I don't know what could be causing it. Every time I take him to the doctor they just blame everything on intermittent asthma which I don't thin he has cause he only has breathing problems around allergy season and allergy meds fix it.
Intermittent asthma can cause breathing difficulty but not fever on each exacerbation. I think your doctor must order the necessary blood tests to rule out infection or some other cause of fever. Your insight in this case seems to be in the correct direction. Either go back to the doctor and ask him why he isn't worried about the fever, or take a second opinion.
