Dear friend,
I am Dr. (Col) R Karanwal, M.D. (Internal Medicine), Consultant Physician, for your assistance.
Thanks for reposing your faith in me and post your query on this website. I fully appreciate your concerns.
There seems to be some miscommunication between your doctor and you. In medical jargon, the terms 'treatment' and 'therapy' are, by and large, synonymous.
However, the term 'therapy' when prefixed with 'chemo' or 'radio', refer to treatment with anti-cancer drugs or radioactive therapy respectively.
Since
biopsy has been done, it seems that your doctor is suspecting cancer, which if confirmed, will require either
chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
I suggest that you wait for the biopsy report : it might turn out to be non-cancerous too! But, God forbid, if cancer is detected, then, dosage of anti-cancer drugs/radiotherapy is modified to suit an elderly patient.
Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.
I am confident that you will benefit from the advice.
May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance. My endeavor would always be to give you a sound
medical advice, to the best of my knowledge and vast experience.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
Fond Regards,
Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
