81 Yr Old, Having Vaginal, Rectal Rash, Itching. No Help With Antibiotics. Suggestions?
I am an 81 year old women who has a vaginal and rectal rash with symptoms of severe daily itching, similar to a yeast infection. I've used Desitin, vinegar, Vagisil wipes and been given antibiotics for it and nothing has worked so far. I've had the rash for 3 months and really need relief. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Since this is over rectal i.e. anus ( may be) and vaginal area . May be due to exfoliative dermatitis or eczematous dermatitis. Antibiotic , only helps , when infection is super added . As you mentioned in your query that itching ( dry) is there so, no bacterial infection. Consult a Dermatologist and skin biopsy will find out the cause. Hope I have answered your question. I further any question I will help. Get well soon. Dr. HET
