90 Years. Alzheimer's. Twisted Mouth Due To Stroke, Needs Help For Feeding, Incontinent. Treatment Beneficial?
Hi. 90 year old grandmother in rest home care. Has Alzheimer's. needs some help with feeding and incontinent. Still recognises family, but not always. Has just appeared to have a stroke within the last two hours. Mouth twisted. Appears comfortable. Have given family the chose as to whether to go to hospital. Is there any value in going? Could she be offered any treatment that would be beneficial considering her pre stroke condition?
yes definitely. If she is unable to swallow due to stroke she can be put on Ryles tube feeds and also she could be catheterised by Foley's catheter for urinary incontinence.
