Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A cousin of mine has had a kidney transplant from his father when he was, 17 Y/O. He is now 63. The kidney has lasted 44 1/2 years. He is now showing signs of early kidney failure. His hematocrit is 20 and hemoglobin is 7. He receives 1000mg arnaspt? Almost every 2 weeks. He is planning to receive a kidney from his daughter in May 2016. Do you think this waiting time is possible with these low numbers ? He received 2units of RBC only once about 1 year ago. Is this kidney transplant the longest known to last. 44 1/2 years.
