Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A relative of mine just went in for an eye appointment. He has an inflammatory condition in his eye - iritis I believe it is called. It causes inflammation, so he uses a steroid drop to calm the iritis and then uses another drop to relieve the pressure caused by the steroid, because he is something like 'steroid averse'. At the eye appointment, I believe he was diagnosed with a retinal detachment - I believe it was Exudative, but I don't know. The doctor told him to avoid any jarring such as riding a horse and such. We are concerned for him because if he loses his sight he cannot continue to work in his profession. Is his issue treatable? Like with some kind of surgery?
