Hi my wife was in teh ER last week with abdominal discomfort and lower back pain . She has this for a few weeks. A CT scan was done as well as blood work and Urine test. Conclusion was Bladder and UI infection. She was given antibiotics got somewhat better after finishing them. She still has abdominal bloating and back pain when walking. They also saw fibroids but the said it was not a cause of her pain. what else can it be.
Thanks for posting,
Since it was concluded that your wife had bladder and UI infection which implies that her bladder and urethra were inflamed due to the presence of microbes in her urinary tract. The inflammation is responsible for the lower back pain (probably there was an associated kidney infection/inflammation or pyelonephritis) and associated digestive disorder (which resulted from the infection). Your wife will have to receive symptomatic treatment for the bloating and lower back pain. She can start by drinking much water, eating healthy balanced diet, do mild home exercises, eat much fruits and legumes and take some analgesia or antiinflammatory for the back pain.
If this does not improve her symptoms, I suggest you pay a visit to a nephrologist who can review and provide better management.
Hope this will help
