Abdominal Pain, Spotting, Negative Pregnancy Test. Suggestion?

Hi, My last period was on 27th August and I have a normal 28 days cycle. From past two days I am experiencing strong abdominal pain and spotting also. Pain is so strong that I had to take pain killer. My pregnancy test came out negative on 24th Sep. Usually after such a heavy lower abdomen pain I experience heavy bleeding , but its only spotting today also. Today is my 31st day. Please suggest.

Thanks for the query.

Menstrual cycle can undergo fluctuations depending on many factors.
So your scanty flow and pain abdomen can be because of causes like hormonal fluctuations, pelvic inflammatory disease etc.
But though pregnancy test report was negative, if you had unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation there is possibility for pregnancy.
Because urine pregnancy test kits sometimes can give false negative reports.
So you better undergo blood test for pregnancy, if comes positive ultrasound is needed to rule out the possibility of ectopic pregnancy which can present with these symptoms.
