Abnormal EKG After Having Triple Bypass. History Of Laryngitis. Are These Related?

My mom is 76 years old a year and half ago she had an abnormal EKG which eventually lead to her having triple bypass. Since then overall has been ok with a few obstacles to overcome. Prior to her bypass which had gotten moved up she developed laryngitis . Unknown to me what laryngitis has to do with cardiac disease, she recently has developed laryngitis and has had an abnormal EKG again and now is awaiting cardiac consult, so question is what does laryngitis have in relation with cardiac disease?

Hi,Laryngitis has no relation with cardiac disease.Laryngitis is inflammation and infection of Larynx.Its just a coincidence that your mother had laryngitis prior to her bypass.But this time the Laryngitis-the infection might have indirectly caused the stress on heart.Any condition like anemia,infection,thyroid disease etc can cause stress to a heart patient and increase chances of ischemia in vulnerable individuals.You need not worry about all this,just visit your Cardiologist and he will advise you clearly what to be done in your Mother's case.I hope this information is useful to you.I wish your mother good health and wish you all the best.
