About Five Weeks Ago, I Slipped While Cleaning The Shower

About five weeks ago, I slipped while cleaning the shower and my toes went around the tub stopper - I think the little toe separated from the others, it could have been both end toes. The foot swelled and there was bruising. I iced and elevated; however, had to travel, so I wore supportive shoes. After two more days with no improvement, had x-rays done at local ER. Diagnosed with a simple break - not shown where or which toe. Told to keep elevating, icing, and buddy-taping the two toes. I indicated that the toes felt swathed in cotton and they seemed numb. While the pain has diminished (still painful when putting on shoes, but subsides a bit afterwards), the numbness/ swathed in cotton feeling hasn't. Would there be any other issue at play with this?
