Accidental Hit Of Head To The Floor Of Pool. Fever, Headache, Tonsillitis. Reason?
hi! i accidentally hit my head on the floor of the swimming pool, but is not that hard because after i hit my head, i didn t feel anything strange... this happened about more than a week ago,, and now i am having an on and off fever and a headache ... and i also have a tonsillitis and i eat late... i just want to ask if my fever is connected to last week s accident. please help me. i ll wait for your reply.
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
It is very unlikely that the mild injury which you had sustained a week ago is responsible for the fever and headache now. Fever is the sign of an infection and it could be possible that the tonsillitis is causing the fever and headache. Moreover, the nature of injury does not seem to be a significant one and you have not had any immediate effects or comp[lications due to the same.
So, you need not worry about the head injury. I would suggest that you take paracetamol for the fever and frequent saline or betadine gargles for the throat problem. In case your tonsil problem flares up or you are having persistent high grade fever, then you may need antibiotics also.
Wish you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
