Acidity, Stomach Pain, Blood In Stool. Constipation After Taking Prilosec. Side Effect?

i have been taking prilosec for frequent stomach acid I have noticed that if I take it consistently I get constipated which I know is a common side effect. But the last 2 weeks I have been having some stomach pain and some blood in my stool. Im thinking of discontinuing the use to see if it clears up. Could prilosec cause this all of a sudden? I have been taking prilosec every 2 to 3 days for about 8 months or so.

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Prilosec i.e.omeprazole have following side effects , diarrhea, constipation, nausea, fatigue, headache, dizziness, weakness.
Blood in stool don't have any relation with use of prilosec, however sometimes there may be cramps in abdomen.
So blood in stool may be due to ,
1 Hemorrhoids , most common cause , can be confirmed by physical examination by a surgeon and if , then get a treatment .
2 May be disease in large intestine so get in colonoscopy and consult a surgeon and get his opinion.
3 Uncommon reason may be blood disorder.
In my opinion consultation with a surgeon will find out the exact nature of disease.
