Adam's Apple Appears Off Center More On Left Side Of Neck, Difficult To Speak Late In The Evening. Should I Be Concerned ?
When I look in the mirrormy adam's apple is off centre appearing more on the left side of my neck. I have no pain or tenderness. I have a history of vocal discomfort ever since I had a number of gallstones. I still have my gallbladder. My voice quality is at its best first thing of a morning but deteriorates through the day to a point where it feels tight, thin and difficult to speak. A ENT prescribed Nexium for reflux but this made absolutely no difference. I have been getting better results taking HCL tablets with betaine. Should I be concerned about the appearance of my Adams apple. I work n the media and rely heavily on vocal quality?
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your query. Adams apple can normally be ositione don one side but sometimes it can be sign of expansive process in neck area. YOu should do ultrasounds or ct to rule this out. Reflux can cause vocal abnormalitites and sometimes antiacid medicines arent useful if there is hiatus hernia or severe gastritis. YOu should do gastroscopy and larngoscopy to evaluate all this. WIsh you good health.
