Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello doctor MY mother is 53 years old without any history of chest pains though she sometimes has a poking sensation in chest. The doctor advised ECG and the results scare me . They indicate possible anterior MI. We have appointment with the doctor soon enough but i am scared till then . I share the ECG reports below. Please advice
Heart rate-80bpm P 100 ms PR 100ms QRS 84ms QT 382ms QTc 441ms Qtr 113% Frontal vectors P 0.12mV 12 degree QRS 0.91 mV 22 degree T 0.31 mV 29degree Normal axis Possible abnormal ECG Q in : III Reduced R in : V 5 QT dispersion : Std 8ms Max 24 ms From 6 out of 8 leads QT dispersion : Std 4ms Max 10ms From 4 out of 6 leads Flat T waves in I AVL V5 V6 QRS-T evaluation : possible anterior MI
There is no acute changes in your mother's ECG. About anterior MI, sometimes there are sign of anterior Mi on ECG, but person did't have any. ECG is not very specific for detecting old MI. If there is a suspition, we perform an echocardiography, which reveals, whether there was a MI or not. So I think your doctor will perform an echocardiography, and you will know the exact answer.
Hope I could help you
Wishing a good health to your mother
