Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Dr. I m 42year male and dignose with VDRL positive and TPHA was also. My Dr. Give me Pinclline injection 2 dose in one time and give it four time i.e. 2nd dose after one week 3rd dose after one week and 4th dose after 2 weeks time. after one month i gone through VDRL test and it is still reactive. Please advise
As per my clinical experience, the Penicillin is the proven gold standard therapy for curing VDRL positive cases. The prognosis is determined by the reduction in the level of the VDRL test. Many patients do remain VDRL positive even for months after the control of causative orgaism. So just continue Penicillin as per your doc advise and get tested as and when told by the doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
