Advise Medicine To Cure Diverticulosis
Hi. I have been diagnosed with diverticulosis and have successfully managed the flare ups for several years: changed diet and lowered stress level. However, recently I have been experiencing intestinal discomfort on a regular basis. No bleeding but loose movements, sometimes clear mucus is present. Usually happens early in the morning and is accompanied by cold sweats and sharp pains in lower bowel.

Your symptoms of loose movements in the morning with clear mucus, cold sweats and sharp pains in lower bowel is indicative of a condition called colitis the cause has to be found out.
Since you are a known case of Diverticulitis with fare ups that have been well controlled, this should be one of the causes.
Colitis can be due to Amoebiasis and other causes.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Send the stool samples for three days as this can give a lot of information.
Get the CT scan of abdomen to know whether there is flare up of diverticulitis or any other reasons.
Colonoscopy once the inflammation is settled helps to get more information and thus get an appropriate diagnosis to be treated as per the cause found.
An opinion of a Gastroenterologist is needed.
